I needed to replace some placemats that were part of a set. The whole table setting consisted of eggplant colored ribbed placemat, printed beige silk placemat with beautiful screened printing of foliage (green and eggplant).. as well as linen printed napkins and solid eggplant cloth napkins. I purchased these placemats for a wedding gift. I added the matching napkins and it was very well received. The mats are thicker than most mats - frankly I wanted to keep them for myself. I can't comment on washing the mats since I gave them as a gift. However, most mats do well with just wiping them off. These mats were the absolutely perfect color I searched for all over the internet. They were impossible to find, and lo and behold, there they were! I'm very happy with them and wish I could find a matching tablecloth! They were delivered promptly, are a good size, and are washable to boot. What more could one ask for?
