After you get the hang of it, it opens wine bottles without effort. The trick is to hold the bottle so it wont spin and use the bottom of the switch to pull the cork out and the top of the switch to extract the cork from the opener. Real neat product.

This is one of the greatest wine gadets I have ever owned. The ease of operation is conveniently quick and easy. Push the button one way and it inserts and extracts the corks. Push the button the other way and it removes the cork from the unit. The unit is attractive and comes with it's own charging unit which sits on the countertop. I enjoy it so much I bought two more. This product takes all the work out of opening a bottle of wine. The motor is very strong and is so easy to operate. The convenient wine label stripper works perfectly and stores conveniently behind the opener. Love It !!!

Most of the other reviewers must have received a different model. My opener opens about 1 out of 10 bottles. It is always a surprise when a cork is actually removed.
With so many good manual openers on the market, why would one waste counterspace and money on this needless, inoperative gaget?
Get a Rabbitt instead.

This item performs exactly like advertised. It makes opening a bottle of wine "a piece of cake". Also, it's a good conversation piece when friends come over.
