Product Description: Royal MCE7900 Platinum Force - Just as two heads are often better than one, the two suction nozzles built into this mighty carpet shampooer are most definitely better than one! Dirty water never has a chance to soak into your carpet, which guarantees drier, cleaner results. Designed for with large, easily filled and emptied quick release tanks 7 amp motor 25 foot cord 8 foot hose Onboard tool
Amazon.com Review: With the Platinum Force carpet extractor from Dirt Devil, you don't have to settle for cleaning just the surface of your carpet. Dirt Devil's design ensures that cleaning solution gets deep into the nap of the carpet and then back out just as thoroughly. The power of the machine lies in its two motorized brush heads--which rotate in opposite directions to clean carpet fibers on all sides--and its powerful dual suction nozzles that get floors clean and dry quickly. The one-gallon capacity of the clean-water tank, combined with the separate shampoo tank, means you don't have to refill often or guess at correct solution mixing. Plus, you can switch off the shampoo, for a plain water rinse, if you choose. The ample dirty-water tank is conveniently see-through and easy to carry and empty. Fingertip controls allow easy monitoring of power, solution release, and brush roll rotation. Dirt Devil's wishbone construction makes the machine easy to maneuver, while the 25-foot power cord and removable tool caddy give you versatility and range. Converting to hose-cleaning is easy, thanks to a solution trigger on the hose handle and an upholstery attachment. Quick-release cord hooks and a foot-pedal handle release add to overall convenience. Though the Platinum Force is no runt--its footprint measures 12-by-19-inches-it's well worth its storage space. --Emily Bedard

This vacuum CLAIMS to be steam vac--but is NOT. The water you add does not heat up--it's only as hot as your tap =costs as much as really good ones that really heat the water in the unit.
Don't buy this if you want a steam vac.

The platinum works pretty good when it works but I have experienced nothing but problems. The first one I purchased started smoking and it smelled like an electrical fire on it's third use. I took it into an authorized service center who later called me back and told me the manufacturer Royal would not authorize repair even though it was still under warranty because I purchased it online and not through an authorized dealer. After a great deal of hassle Royal finally agreed to send me a replacement machine after I paid another $75 dollars to ship the defective machine back. I have used the new Platinum Force they shipped me 7 times now and the extraction pumped failed duirng it's last use leaving us with soggy carpets. Maybe it is just my luck but I cannot recommend this machine.

So far, so good!! A bit heavy, but seems to have good suction. Easy to use. Leaking minimized if you put the top piece on correctly by tipping back the machine before popping it into place. My 2nd one- first lasted several years. This one is better because you can do a rinse by not turning on the soap (has a clean water tank separate from the soap dispenser) otherwise you would have to change the solutiuon in the tank- this is very important to me as I think that getting the saop out is better for the inhabitants of the house and keeps the carpets cleaner longer. Haven't used other carpet cleaners so can't compare- this one doesn't heat the water like others, but I just put hot water into the tank and it seems to work well. The down side was putting the thing together- there were 2 nuts and bolts did not fit in their holes and I had to get new ones from the hardware store.

This cleaner worked wonders when I used it on my son's room carpet... it had just been vacuumed, not cleaned, for several years. The whole room looked great after this machine got through with it. In fairness, we did use Oreck pet stain remover on the spots, BUT on the overall carpet, I used no carpet cleaner at all- just hot water. And the results were impressive. We went over the worst parts a couple of times, and the not so bad spots once. I don't own this machine- borrowed a neighbor's. But when I get ready to buy, this is the one I am going for.

My friend at work has bought this brand and loved it so I took her advice and she was right! I really like this one! Very easy to work with and clean up is a breeze. Very happy with it!
