Amazon.com Review:
With a 2-3/4-inch bottom that fits most vehicle drink holders, this lightweight mug makes hot coffee, tea, or chocolate available on the road. Hot beverages stay hot for at least 1 hour. Cold beverages stay chilled for several hours. Twist the finely threaded stopper tight, and the mug won't leak even if it's knocked over. Twist it about a quarter-turn and drink out of either side--lips on both sides make it easy--without removing the stopper. Made of stainless steel and tough plastic, with a rubber inset inside the handle for comfort and a rubberized ring around the body for a firm grip, the mug is handsome and virtually unbreakable. It stands 7-1/4 inches high, and its smooth stainless-steel interior cleans easily with a sponge or cloth. Nissan insulated products carry five-year warranties against defects. --Fred Brack

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Heat retaining mug ever
This is the best mug I've ever owned. It keeps coffee hot for hours. It helps that I start with French Press Hot. If you close the lid, it does not leak, and stays hot longer. The screw on lid is insulated and easy to clean. This cup with a closed lid rivals my Stanley thermos for heat retention, and that is fantastic.
I would love a tumbler of equal quality from Thermos, alas the available Thermos tumbler is not equal to this handled mug.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Finally a mug that REALLY does NOT leak :o) However....
I should have thought and measured out how much 14 ounces is. I thought this would be a bit larger. It holds as much as an extra large coffee mug. That's fine, though. Maybe they don't even make bigger ones? Maybe I need to stop drinking so much coffee! LOL!

The quality of the mug is EXCELLENT and the smoke color is nice and doesn't show fingerprints. I really like the handle and the mug fits perfectly in the vehicle drink holders. I haven't used the clip that comes with it. Not sure what you'd clip it to...backpack or bicycle, maybe? The lip on the lid is really nice to sip from and no coffee pools in the lid. Stainless steel is awesome, because I don't have to worry about health issues (from plastic leaching) and my coffee tasting like plastic, PLUS the coffee stays much hotter than it would in a plastic travel mug. The rubber grip around the middle comes off for washing. I am not sure if the mug can go in the dishwasher...I'll have to read the reviews and description again. So far, I've just washed it by hand.

Overall, I couldn't be happier with this mug...unless it were bigger! ;o)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best mug ever. Go for quality and get this!
Hands down best fully water proof leak proof mug with awesome insulating capabilities and the perfect size so it fits in all cup holders. Metal inside and easy to clean unlike other brands. Worry free, close the lid and throw it into your bag. Worth every cent!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - BEST mug I've used (but still not *perfect*)
I like my coffee to be HOT - and by hot I mean, nearly-burn-my-tongue hot. Once it gets lukewarm I stop drinking it. And for that reason this mug is far and away the best mug I've used (believe me I've tried a lot of other ones). I've owned 3 of them and am about to purchase my fourth. Before discovering this model I liked the Thermos Nissan 14-Ounce Stainless-Steel Insulated Travel Tumbler but wanted to switch to a truly leak-proof one.

The good:

1) This is truly a LEAK-PROOF mug as long as the threads inside the mug and on the lid are dry, and the lid is closed completely. Do not overfill, otherwise when you put the lid on liquid will get pushed up into the threads. After the mug is filled, make sure the threads inside the mug are dry before screwing on the lid. Baristas can be careless about this so you have to swipe the inside with a napkin after they fill it. The lid should be screwed on tightly, but as other reviewers have pointed out, the seal will get tighter as the mug heats up. Obviously, when you're drinking the lid must be opened a half-turn to allow the beverage to "leak" into your mouth.

2) My coffee stays BURNING HOT from ~6:30am to about 9am. It's still hot enough for me to drink until around 10am. The opposite effect is also true: if you drink iced coffee your beverage stays super COLD for a long time. I read somewhere (maybe the directions?) that you should fill the mug with hot water to "prime" it for your beverage. I don't bother with that and it still works great.

3) The base of the mug fits into standard cup holders. The fit is snug in my car's cup holder and I have to twist it in just a little to make sure it's secure.

4) The mug is very sturdy. I'm known to occasionally drop things, and despite that I've never broken one of these mugs. Unfortunately if you drop it on asphalt or the sidewalk, the rim gets scratched and makes it rough on your lips when you drink (after cleaning of course!).

5) The carabiner is a nice touch, although to be honest I don't use it much. When the mug is full and the cup is clipped to my messenger bag, it bangs uncomfortably on my leg or hits doorposts. So I prefer to throw it in the bag since I don't have to worry about it leaking.

The bad:

1) The O-ring gets black gunk build-up, and to clean it you have to remove the ring and really scrub it. If you're like me and don't scrub it every time you wash it, you can never get every last bit off because it's caked on. After repeated washings, the ring does start to lose it's shape so the seal is less effective.

2) The diameter of the opening is not large enough to fit my fairly small hand with a sponge all the way to the bottom. I have to sort of scoot the sponge down to the bottom and twist it around, but after a while a round stain develops at the very bottom of the mug. I suppose if you're more diligent than me and always rinse it out as soon as you're done drinking, this may not be a problem.

3) The mug's capacity is less than you'd think by just looking at it, because of the vacuum mechanism. That means that when you present it to the barista they want to charge you for a medium beverage. But really, it only fits a Starbuck's tall coffee (which is 12 oz). I had to demonstrate by pouring the tall coffee into the mug and showing the barista. If you're a regular somewhere they'll stop trying to force you to buy the medium/grande.

Between the roughed-up edges from dropping it, and my less than perfect cleaning, each mug has lasted me about 3 years before I decide to replace it. But for consistently steaming hot coffee and a mug that doesn't leak, it's totally worth it!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Nissan thermos
I have two of these (and two of the 26 oz. water bottles) and they are great. Keeps everything hot or cold for hours and they are small enough on the bottom to fit both of them in the small cup holders on my Corvette. The 26 oz. water bottles I use when playing golf. I fill them 1/3 with ice and the rest water. When I come off the course 5 hours later in 95+ degree heat, I still have ice in the thermos.

In 1959 an updated Constellation with a stationary handle replaced the previous model and was made until 1980. These Constellations route all of the exhaust under the vacuum using a different airfoil. The updated design is rather quiet even by modern standards particularly on carpet as it muffles the sound. These models float on carpet or bare floor. They are worth more to collectors than the older version.
